Quilt Auction - Fundraiser |

Thank you to all Pilgrim Park supporters for your generous contributions to the recent Quilt Auction. The total made for Pilgrim Park Funds For the Future was $1364.00!!
When the appeal for support for the Funds For the Future drive was first mailed in the fall of 2006 one of our guest groups The Illini Country Stitchers responded by proposing that they would make a quilt for us to raffle. Several months later we received the beautiful quilt made by many of the quilt guild members. The pattern is “Crossed Pathways” -- a most appropriate pattern for Pilgrim Park where so many youth and adults have the opportunity to cross paths with people and from near and far.
The quilt has been on display in the Dining Hall since January, 2008 where guests have had the opportunity to purchase tickets for the raffle.
One June 6, 2008 at the close of the Friday afternoon plenary at the IL Conference UCC annual meeting, The Rev. Phil Hart, Interim Conference Minister, drew out the lucky winning ticket. Although the winner was not present, a telephone call announced the prize to the ecstatic winner. A member of the winner’s church was present and willingly delivered the gorgeous quilt to the fortunate recipient. |
