Being a part of the Outdoor Ministries, Pilgrim Park and Tower Hill can be very rewarding on many levels both spiritually, mentally and physically. What are the gifts that God has given you?

A Dream Come True

You are invited to be part of a dream. The dream is to have available capital improvement funds for our two Outdoor Ministry sites – Pilgrim Park and Tower Hill. Individuals, families, or organizations who commit to contributing $100 or more each calendar year become members of one of the two Century Clubs. Two committees – one representing Pilgrim Park and the other Tower Hill – work in cooperation with the Outdoor Ministry System to determine how Century Club funds will be spent for capital improvements at each location. Century Club funds assure that well-kept facilities will be available for years to come.

Why Now?

Tower Hill (1923) and Pilgrim Park (1946) were both begun during the two Grand Periods of organized camping. Both were dedicated to the mission of being a camp for young people. Over the years the original mission has been built upon and the sites have become centers for family life, spiritual growth, adult education and renewal.

What was once a dream of Mr. Warren and Dr. Lindley has become much more than they could have imagined. Yes, young people from throughout the Illinois Conference do come to summer camps. In addition, families come with fellow church members or as individual families, confirmation and adult classes gather during all seasons of the year, and retreats happen on any given day of the week. In all seasons of the year, thousands of individuals journey to our camp. They travel to be in a sacred space, to come together with others, or to be alone. At times they journey to find Christ in these settings, and still other times are pleasantly surprised when they pause and God touches them.

Tower Hill and Pilgrim Park are here today because of the foresight of past generations. Names like Gammon, Du Pree, Edwards, Marshall, Higgins, Schrag, Whales, Rich, Leonhart and St. Philippus announce not only the location of the buildings, but speak to the people who cared so strongly about this camping ministry that they gave of their time and their resources to pass this ministry along to us today.

Here and Now you can add your name to the list of those who are securing Outdoor Ministry for the year 2006 and beyond. Here and Now you can help secure the future for generations of church members to come. Here and Now you can join others in supporting a sacred part of this earth.
