Summer StaffAll young adults are invited to apply to summer site staff at Tower Hill. The Camp Staff works with swimming and water related activities, supervises the climbing tower, builds camp fires, works on construction projects, assists in the kitchen, helps with cleaning and maintaining the grounds, and more! The summer at Tower Hill begins with a week of Bryce & Seantraining followed by 9 to 10 weeks of service, fun, and great times. Tower Hill tries very hard to make sure its staff enjoys their summer as well as grow in their leadership abilities, self-reliance, and spirituality. A summer at camp is an excellent opportunity for high school and college students to gain valuable job experience. The minimum age to apply is 16 and some positions have minimum requirements of 18 and 21.

 

Desired Qualifications

Allison, Alice, Luba, OlesyaTo be apart of the summer camp staff experience most jobs have a minimum age of 16, however, some job titles require you to be a minimum age of 18. You have to have the ability to relate well with both children and adults and the ability to work with others as a team member. Finally, you must be able to communicate effectively and have the interest and desire to serve the camp in all aspects.


Responsibilities

All summer staff, regardless of their staff title, is expected to fulfill the responsibilities listed below:

  • Willingness to participate in lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid training during staff week
  • Willingness to become trained in archery, and aquatic observerBeach
  • Willingness to assist or lead various programs throughout the summer
  • Daily cleaning of restrooms on a rotating basis with other staff
  • Cleaning of dining room areas after each meal on a rotating basis with other staff
  • Vacuum/sweep floors daily as needed
  • Small repair and painting projects
  • Weeding, raking, tree trimming, and trail maintenance
  • Keeping grounds free of trashDale
  • Assisting with set-up for programs
  • Cleaning cabins and program areas after departure of guests
  • Assisting in the kitchen as required
  • Washing dishes after meals on a rotating basis with other staff
  • Oversight of dining room procedures on a rotating basis with other staff
  • Assisting other staff in the completion of their tasks as time allows, and other various duties as assigned by the manager
  • To be trained to serve as an aquatic observer on the beach as needed
  • To lead/participate in different program areas as requested by directors

Certifications

Climbing TowerOne of our top priorities at Tower Hill Camp is safety. All members of site staff receive free training and official certification in First Aid, CPR, and basic water safety.

Members of our staff are also trained to lead the low initiatives course and the climbing tower.

Living Arrangements

Summer StaffWhile working at Tower Hill, the staff is given free housing on site. Meals are provided regularly and many staff members claim it’s the best they eat all year. Each summer, a few international students are hired to work on staff at Tower Hill. Staff members meet people from Russia, Ukraine, South Africa, Mexico, Hungary, Argentina, and more while the international people get to learn about the United States from the American staff. The camp provides free wireless internet a TV to watch movies or play games during free time and comfortable meeting areas for all staff members.
